Interview of Gallon of the Gardens of Babylon

Can you forward yourselves?

I am called Gallon and I am the manager and designer of Jardins society of Babylon, society which I created in 2004.

Which is your formation?

I carried out Landscape LT Installations at the school of and I continued by a license in Town planning with the faculty of Creteil.

Which is your sphere of activity?

Jardins society of Babylon designs and carries out ecological gardens, vegetable walls and design of new purposes in which plant is built-in.

How do you conceive the trade of landscape designer?

For me the important thing is to reconstitute true ecosystems some is the garden. I try to design my ecological gardens as natural spaces in which these inhabitants space.

In a context or the questions of ecology and environment, how do you adapt them become crucial to your activity?

The landscape must be one to put forward ecology, sustainable development by having a positive attitude on the environment, that passes by the suppression of the chemical products and the motorized interventions.

We carry out only ecological gardens and terraces in which we use mineral materials of standard recycling (petals of slate, crushed brick, etc…).

In term of construction timber, we carry out those with wood thermo-Treaty of the Scandinavian countries answering the environmental stresses perfectly. We use cross-pieces in oak dried gross of managed forests and not of the cross-pieces of railroad of the SNCF containing polluting coal.

We do not carry out any installation with grass, the aforementioned being through very polluting human interventions. Indeed, it is necessary to discuss it several times in the year against the ship's boys, poppet valves or the worms of the ground. He is large-scale consumer of water and finally he requires during the beautiful season nthly motorized interventions which are at the same time polluting and catastrophic for fauna.

Vegetable installation primarily consists of flowered meadows, of graminaceous not requiring or little size, no processing chemical and not of automatic watering, thus the intervention of the man and his impact on installation is less, the pollinating insects and fauna to again form a varied and balanced ecosystem.

Nature and the man cohabit thus intelligently.

Which are your customers?

• 50% of our customers are firms sensitized with ecology.
• 25% are communities eager to work on ecological spaces and having recourse only to very little conversation.
• 25% remainder are private individuals having the means of offering a service personalized and of higher quality for their terraces and ecological gardens.
