Realization of a dragon

Installation of the metal structure

The choice of the topic of decoration for the city is decided at the beginning of year according to the topicality or failing this an original subject is found.

The dragon is high and length. Its metal skeleton weighs more than g.

The dragon is planted of 6000 seedlings of :

• 1500 “red” for the legs
• 2500 “green” for the body
• 2000 “” for the breast piece of the beast.

The seedlings are carried out in greenhouses in the form of microcomputer-mounds for being placed more easily in netting.

A special mould

The mould is a special mixture of which here the composition:

• fair peat 70%
• 30% of
• g /m3 d' Argile
• 1,2 of manure 05 09 20 + trace elements
• 1,5 of (retaining of water)
• 3 of controlled-release fertilizer 5 to onths 15.9.9.

This composition gives a light mould, thanks to the peat. In addition it retains water well, thanks to clay and with the .

Plants

For the dragon, of , #CF5B74 and #D05C75 were used. These last are used for their coloured foliage and their covering faculty.

Watering

Very important, the mould must always be put wet to avoid the deformations, because the makes “inflate” the mould.

It should be sprinkled every 2 days to avoid the points of drying, especially on the level of the head and the tail.

No automatic watering is installed to oblige the human intervention. Indeed one drop by drop, or microporous appears , it sprinkles very well the medium of the structure, but very badly the ends and is thus not regular.

Finally the dragon must be cut 1 or 2 times per month following the climate.

The dragon is finished

Finally it is finished after 8 workdays with 2 or 3 people sometimes.

It will remain on the round not until the end of September at the beginning of October.
